Ú GUS.FIT A tough early life and a health scare have positively shaped who he is today. Since I was a kid growing up in Brazil, I have overcome many challenges. My parents divorced when I was 11 and, being the youngest of four siblings, I had to grow up fast. I took many jobs to make ends meet, pay school tuition fees and ensure I had food on the table. Little did I know that through this hardship I would discover my passion and true happiness.

In 2011, I made the big decision to move to Australia. I could barely speak English. Thanks to my boyfriend at the time, who was extremely patient, I learned a little to get by and, nearly eight years later, I’ve never looked back.

Six years ago, I started my own business and work as a fitness professional, actor, model, life coach and educational counsellor. I have helped hundreds of people change their lives mentally and physically.

My passion in life is helping others understand that they can be happy with what they have rather than obsessing over a newer car, bigger house or a more attractive boyfriend!

After finding my own happiness with a great partner and the cutest dog, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Until that point, I hadn’t considered my mortality. I was not scared of dying but I believed I had much more left to give. I underwent surgery to remove the tumour. Thankfully, it was benign.

Today, I see that all the challenges in my life have made me stronger, happier and, most importantly, grateful. As a personal trainer and mindset coach, I help people recognise the importance of their own experiences and realise their potential. I encourage all kinds of people to understand how strong they are as individuals. People are searching for solutions to their problems and often the answer lies within.
