ERASURE – THE NEON

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Erasure, the British pop duo who were always gayer, camper and more outrageous than Pet Shop Boys. While PSBs took a trip to dear, depraved Berlin for their latest album Hotspot released earlier this year, Andy and Vince are still very content swirling around in their sweet spot somewhere between Brighton Pride and Manchester’s Canal Street on this, their 18th studio album. Hey Now (Think I Got A Feeling) is the sort of breezy synthpop with a bittersweet bite and a queer twist that they’ve become masters of over the last few decades. Devotees of RuPaul’s Drag Race should check out the video for Nerves Of Steel, the album’s second single, for a truly drag-tastic extravaganza.
