It’s plane and simple

-

Long road trips might be fun for some, but for others, including pets, jet travel is the only way to go. If you’ve never taken your pet on board, Kylie O’Brien from Aeropets in Brisbane can reassure you they cope very well with air travel.

“You would be surprised at how well the pets cope with air travel. The area in which the pets travel on the plane is pressurised and air-conditioned to a comfortable level and they are given plenty of water along the journey,” Kylie says. She also recommends pets are walked prior to travel and given a light meal in the morning or the night before their flight.

Aeropets specialises in preparing pets for domestic and international travel. The planning and logistics are tricky, especially if the owner is on the same flight. “Our clients appreciate the one-on-one attention we can give to their pets, while they are making their own travel arrangements. We have a thorough knowledge of the process and clients feel much better that their special family member is well taken care of.” Kylie says.

For some, taking pets on holiday is just not possible and making arrangements for their pets can be a headache. If this is the case, there are plenty of options available to you. You may be able to rely on a trusted neighbour to pop in to feed and care for your pets, or you can hire someone to call in to your home once or twice per day.

Another very popular option now is to offer free board at your home for someone to live with your pet(s), or of course you can book your pet(s) into a boarding kennel or cattery, and feel secure that they will be in a controlled environment with professional care.
