The ap­proach of the fes­tive sea­son al­ways fills me with the ex­cite­ment of catch-ups with the peo­ple most spe­cial to me. I’m al­ready well into plan­ning mode, mak­ing sure I tick all the key boxes, while in­clud­ing a few spins on tra­di­tion, plus all the fi­nal flour­ishes, of course! That’s what this bumper is­sue is all about. The recipes are de­signed to be mixed and matched with each other, mak­ing the big day sim­ple to plan, but with your own spe­cial spin. We’ve also in­cluded a mul­ti­tude of clever short­cuts. Our cheat’s hams (page 116) are a per­fect ex­am­ple – there are three to choose from, and each one uses a bril­liantly easy glaze. Then, of course, there are all the amaz­ing cakes, pud­dings and desserts! I can’t wait to bake my pud­ding, whip up a pavlova and spend time with fam­ily.
