MUMBIL’S BLACKWATTLE FAIR A HUGE SUCCESS

Dubbo Photo News - - Wellington news -

Sure, there were grand finals on last weekend but the real Aussie sports lovers were at Mumbil’s Blackwattle Fair for the world famous Chuckakubra competition.

I claimed the title in ‘12 and ‘14 but this year John Howard came out of retirement (that’s Burrendong’s John Howard) to claim his third title with a chuck of about 22 metres which I reckon is a record. It was a mighty effort! I managed to bag the silver - and will have to wait for ‘18 for another shot at Chuckakubra glory! Don’t miss it!

Congratulations to President of the Mumbil District Progress Association, Michelle Polley, Vice-president Dale Elliott, Secretary Dianne Kelly, Treasurer Norma Faram and the committee on another hugely successful Blackwattle Fair!
