IT’S a girl!

Apparently a second female spider monkey was born at our local zoo on December 21, which was a great Christmas present, that followed on from another bub of the species last October.

It seems strange to me that it’s taken us this long to be told about it, but a belated well done to all concerned, even though as a journalist I’m not a fan of such long delays between birth and announceme­nt, it takes the shine off when a big announceme­nt is made and you realise that it happened almost two months ago. ■
