CENTRAL WEST’S NASHOS HONOURED
National Servicemen from around the Central West gathered in Orange on Sunday for the National Servicemen’s Association of Australia, Mid State Sub Branch Memorial Day Parade & Service.
This Memorial Day is marked every year in Orange and commemorates the service and sacrifice of the many young Australians who undertook national service.
“Nashos” as they became known, gave up a year or two of their young lives simply because their country asked them to.
Many served Australia in combat overseas and some of those Nashos made the ultimate sacrifice, never to return home.
Sunday was an opportunity to remember their service and also show the region’s appreciation.
I would like to thank all of the Nashos for their service to our nation. We as a community are grateful for all that they gave and their service will never be forgotten.
