WHILE driv­ing rested and at the right speeds are key mes­sages for the road, on the cy­cling track the op­po­site is true.

Track cy­clists from the Dubbo Cy­cle Club are in Mel­bourne this week, ex­haust­ing ev­ery ounce of their en­ergy go­ing as fast as they hu­manly can to com­pete at the Masters Track Na­tional Cham­pi­onships at the Dare­bin In­ter­na­tional Sports Cen­tre Velo­drome in Mel­bourne.

The 11 gold medals and 16 sil­ver and bronze Ja­son Farr, Tim Hines, Dar­rell Wheeler, Si­mone Grounds, Heather Tice­hurst and Jen­nifer Raines col­lected at the Masters State Cham­pi­onships a cou­ple of weeks back haven’t had time to col­lect dust be­fore they’re off again to re­mind the na­tion that the best rid­ers come from Dubbo!

Whichever way the masters goes, they’ll have plenty to talk about at the at the club’s 2018 fundraiser re­union at Club Dubbo on Satur­day, March 24, at 6pm. The club is call­ing out for do­na­tion of goods or ser­vices of any size to auc­tion on the night. RSVP by Fri­day, March 12.

The Dubbo RSL 78s are also host­ing a big re­union on Satur­day, March 31, at the Dubbo RSL Club Ter­race from 6.30pm. Four decades (1978 to 2018) of play­ers and sup­port­ers are in­vited to at­tend the event. See their Face­book page for de­tails. RSVP by Fri­day, March 23.
