Coaching the coach drivers at Langleys
LOCAL coach touring company Langleys has 37 coaches on the road at any one time, travelling Australia and beyond.
Keeping their drivers updated with the latest in coach driving practices and technology was underway this week, with a visiting trainer from manufacturing company Scania.
“Demands have certainly changed in the last 10 years and as technology changes so does the way you drive a coach, to lower emissions for example, and improve safety,” Scania’s Peter Verbrugge said.
Langleys will be trialling a new style of coach travel in May this year called ‘Stay Put in Adelaide’.
“The idea is you go to Adelaide, one pack in one place, and make day trips to visit, so you’re not packing and unpacking your bags,” said office manager Sarah Langley.
