Dubbo Family Day Care scheme proposed increase in fees
COUNCIL has adopted a proposed increase in fees and introduction of building lease at the Dubbo Family Day Care scheme.
The Parent Administration Levy will increase from $1/hour to $1.75 per hour. The new levy will be phased in, in 25-cent increments, starting this month to July 2018, from then to July 2019, and phase three from July 2019 to July 2020.
An alternate income stream was considered and adopted whereby playroom facilities are hired out to various childhood and NGO organisations and community groups with a total additional income per annum opportunity of $14,000.
Room hire of $20 per two-hour session, and resource hire of $10 per session, has been implemented.
The proposed changes were on public display for 28 days at the end of 2017, but no submissions were received.
The proposal was motioned by Councillor Stephen Lawrence who noted the recommendations, including that the increase in fees and the introduction of new fees, are monitored so the Dubbo Family Day Care Scheme remains a viable and cost-effective option for child care in the community.
