Dubbo College team earns a place in State semi-final
COMING on top of the recent Old Collegians Challenge, Dubbo College’s Open Boys cricket team will take on defending champions Sydney Boys High for a spot in the NSW CHS Allan Davidson Shield final.
The chance to play for this prestigious trophy has not been lost on the local cricket community.
Plenty of ex-students along with current College kids are expected to be at Lady Cutler Oval 4 from 9.30 today (Thursday, March 15) for the 40 overs a side match.
Dubbo College’s path to the final came after a bye in the state round of 16 before defeating Riverina champions Wagga Wagga High by 60 runs.
Young batsman Koda Sissian was the leading light, hitting 58 not out, and the College team will be looking for a similar innings and support from the likes of Ben Wheeler, Thomas Nelson and Brock Larance to set up a win.
Will Grant, Mitch Rosenbaum and Mitch Lincoln provide the fast bowling options; Larance and Nelson to stem the run flow with their slowness.
If Dubbo College wins the match they will play either Warners Bay (Hunter) or Farrer High (North West) in the final at Bathurst on Tuesday week.
Best of luck! NOT even the timers could separate brothers Brett and Andrew Schloeffel who were joint winners of the Blues Meats Monthly Medal.
Elderly Ducks were seen flapping their wings and gabbling about whether this had ever been seen on the pond before?
“Never,” they quacked!
This Sunday is the last week of the championships, with The Donut King Monthly Points Trophy up for grabs followed by lunch at the RSL.
