AUS­TRALIA en­joy­ing gold medal wins in lawn bowls at the Com­mon­wealth Games this week could be the en­cour­age­ment needed for new play­ers to try the sport for the first time!

Lawn bowls is not cur­rently played as an Olympic sport, and so the Com­mon­wealth Games is giv­ing com­peti­tors one of the big­gest chances at a golden mo­ment.

Bowl­ing en­thu­si­asts were at Spor­ties on March 13 and again on April 3 for ses­sions of fun, so­cial­is­ing and friendly com­pe­ti­tion. There was both men’s and women’s games in ac­tion when Dubbo Photo News dropped by. Bowlers play reg­u­larly on Tues­day and Satur­day morn­ings, and any­one is wel­come to come along and join in.
