CYMS maintain dominance over old rivals
DUBBO CYMS Old Boys remember the early days when Leo Nosworthy and his Macquarie Blues thrashed them in every game from 1959-63. Included in the scores was a monumental 78-3 hiding. On Sunday, the Old Boys were hoping they were on the way to erasing that memory but when the scoreboard attendants logged off, it was a formidable, though lowly 60-10!
Macquarie faithful will also point out that Nosworthy’s team won the Clayton Cup in 1959 and their points were accumulated with threepoint tries!
Macquarie took Reserve grade 21-14; CYMS the Under-18s 32-16 and League Tag 18-8.
In other first grade results, Wellington downed Narromine 62-12; Forbes scored a morale-boosting 38-18 win over Nyngan, and Parkes outpointed Westside 50-42.
