AMANDA Turn­bull added the Peak Hill Me­mo­rial Gold Cup to her im­pres­sive tro­phy cabi­net, urg­ing favourite Bet­ter Be Donna to win in the $10,000 race on the long week­end.

Amanda and cousin Ja­son Turn­bull went wheel for wheel for the en­tire dis­tance, Bet­ter Be Donna edg­ing out Rock Bot­tom af­ter a bat­tle down the straight.

The Bat­ten fam­ily’s hope, Bar­low Troubador from Gil­gan­dra, flew home to fin­ish third in an­other eye-catch­ing per­for­mance.

Sun­day’s nine race Car­ni­val of Cups saw young Tom Pay chalk up a win be­hind Big Bill, Kasey Hock­ing drive Our Posi­tano to vic­tory in the Kris­ten Park Driv­ers’ In­ter­na­tional, and Nathan Turn­bull salute twice, with Sprock­ets in the first and El Gran Senor to fin­ish the card.
