THE THUMBS
Thumbs up
to Viatek for amazingly quick service when we needed assistance with our printer.
Thumbs down to the person that took my chainsaw from Morgan Street.
Thumbs up
to Forro ‘The Finisher’ for his help in constructing our new driveway. The edges are divine!
Thumbs up
to Dr Ibe, and also the Gilgandra IGA staff and Gilgandra Chemist staff. DPN reader Heather said all were very caring and helpful.
Thumbs down
to the way the removal of plastic shopping bags has been conducted by our chain stores. The ideal of saving our environment is brilliant, but selling us other plastic shopping bags as a replacement is just another money grab. Shame on you!
Thumbs down
to the very rude patient who thought it necessary to abuse me and tell me to “stop pushing in” and “wait my turn” when I was merely following the instructions of the receptionist because I was unfamiliar with the area. I calmly tried to explain this to this very rude person who continued her rant. I feel sad for your daughter if this is the way you teach her to treat other people.
Thumbs down
to Dubbo Council for the decision to replace all our bins. Why not just replace the lids on our rubbish bins with the appropriate colour now needed, instead of replacing all those bins. What a waste of our money and the environment.
Thumbs up
and thank-you to the two men who helped get my husband in and out of the car outside of PRP Diagnostic Imaging.
Thumbs up
to Press Cafe in Bultje street on a fantastic, clean, atmosphere with lots of super healthy plants, friendly staff and great food. A special thumbs up to Brad for super friendly, attentive service.
Thumbs up
to Tracy and her Zumba team for introducing a Belly Dance Zumba Class at Dubbo RSL on Fridays from 12.15pm.
Thumbs down
to a large supermarket retailer for very poor service – I waited almost half an hour at the checkout with my trolley of groceries. Won’t be going back – I will be going to the opposition!
Thumbs up
to the doctors and staff at Dubbo Medical & Allied Health Group for their care, courtesy, kindness and professionalism.

AFTER a jam-packed twelve months in Australia, Rotary exchange student Andre Soares do Amaral is heading home to Brazil, but not without a fond farewell from his host club, the Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie.
Members of the club were delighted to meet Andre’s family, who made the long trip from regional Brazil and were hosted at a farewell barbecue at the home of Peter and Kim English.
Andre was farewelled by a number of friends, having touched many hearts during his stay.
There was not a dry eye in the house when Andre’s father, Gustavo, braved the language barrier to say a touching “thank you” to the club and Andre’s friends, and to pay tribute to the courage his son has shown in taking on the challenge of a year’s exchange.
The Rotary youth exchange program helps build fellowship and understanding across the world, and according to the members of the Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie, Andre has been a fantastic ambassador not only for his country and Rotary, but for global youth as a whole.
Andre will be sorely missed, but has enriched the lives of those who enjoyed his company during the past 12 months.
