An­nual Pres­by­te­rian Flower Show turns 100!

THE An­nual Pres­by­te­rian Flower Show, Gil­gan­dra, will be cel­e­brat­ing its 100th con­sec­u­tive year on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 12, at the Gil­gan­dra Shire Hall.

There are 57 classes in the flower show sched­ule, with roses be­ing the most pop­u­lar sec­tion. Other classes in­clude bulbs and rhi­zomes, cut flow­ers, and dec­o­ra­tive.

Vis­i­tors will find cakes, sweets, pro­duce, plants, crafts and bar­gain stalls, chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties, com­pe­ti­tion and lunch from 12 noon ($15), af­ter­noon tea from 3pm ($5) and a high tea from 6pm ($15).

The high tea at night will con­sist of a hot meal and sweets, as served in the early years.

All are wel­come to at­tend and dis­play their en­tries. Ev­ery sec­tion wins a tro­phy.
