A 21-YEAR-OLD man was killed on the week­end af­ter crash­ing into a fence in Bed­does Av­enue, only a block from the Wheel­ers Lane-co­bra Street round­about.

Emer­gency ser­vices raced to the scene about 10.40pm last Satur­day night, Septem­ber 22, af­ter the ini­tial re­ports a mo­tor­bike had hit a fence.

The 21-year-old man died at the scene.

Of­fi­cers from Orana Mid Western Po­lice District at­tended and estab­lished a crime scene.

The cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the crash are be­ing in­ves­ti­gated and a brief will be pre­pared for the in­for­ma­tion of the Coro­ner.

The Dubbo fa­tal­ity was one of a se­ries in NSW, with five mo­tor­cy­clists killed on the state’s roads dur­ing the week­end.

It prompted a warn­ing from po­lice urg­ing rid­ers to be more vig­i­lant when they’re on the road.

Traf­fic and High­way Pa­trol Com­mand As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner, Michael Cor­boy, said an in­creas­ing num­ber of crashes were in­volv­ing some of the state’s most vul­ner­a­ble road users – mo­tor­cy­clists and pedes­tri­ans. So far this year, 41 mo­tor­cy­clists and 53 pedes­tri­ans have been killed.
