THE Dubbo Pacemakers (winners 1985) edged out the Wellington Wedgetails 18-14 in a game that gripped the massive Saturday crowd at Apex Oval.

While that was to be their last win for the carnival, it showed the pride the modern “Pacies” have in their club and the champions of the early knockouts.

Wellington’s Wedgetails were very competitive but the early lead they conceded proved too much to reel in.
