Dubbo hosts heroes for State Firefighting Championships
THOUSANDS of spectators made their way to Ollie Robbins Oval over the weekend to watch as firefighters from across NSW competed in the NSW State Firefighting Championships.
The Championships were opened by former Dubbo Station Officer Jeremy Fewtrell who is now Deputy Commissioner of Fire and Rescue NSW,.
Two teams from Dubbo Fire Station competed as did one team each from Delroy, Wellington and Trangie Fire Stations.
All local teams finished in the top 20 with Trangie the best placed team in 6th place, while Dubbo was not far behind in 8th.
And who better to run a fireworks display than a big group of firefighters! Our local firies lit up the night sky with an awesome show on Friday night.
