The charge came as a result of investigations by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Corrective Services Investigation Unit. They allegedly identified suspicious activity being conducted by a male corrections officer. Police allege in court that the man trafficked tobacco into Wellington Correctional Centre on five occasions in return for financial reward from two inmates. The 35-year-old was charged last week with two counts of agent corruptly receive benefit and five counts of unlawfully deliver anything to an inmate. His employment with Corrective Services NSW has been suspended. Investigations are continuing. :::NUM3ER5 451,999 The number of breath tests conducted by NSW Police across the state during the first ten days of Operation Safe Arrival which was targeting unsafe driving up until the end of New Year’s Day.
