PAPARAZZI

-

The stream of photos of that New Year’s Eve dust storm last week continued to arrive at the Dubbo Photo News office for days afterwards. This awesome panorama photo of the dust storm was taken on Obley Rd by Martin Englefield. Thanks to Kerry for sending this photo in.

Sounds of summer:

There’s been a lot in the news this week about the large number of bluebottles on beaches up and down the east coast of Australia, with more than 2500 people stung as the little sea critters are washed ashore by strong winds. Far less reported, and a lot less painful, are the cicadas out in big numbers in some parts of the state. According to the Paparazzi contributor who shot this photo at close range with his phone camera, his white car was covered with at least two dozen cicadas when he woke up on Monday morning – and the sound of cicadas in the surrounding trees was “deafening”.

It happens to the best of us... The sight of a tyre

company vehicle with a flat tyre tickled the fancy of photographer Peter Woodward when he spotted it on Saturday. “There was a certain irony in tyre company ute having a flat tyre,” Peter said, also noting that – as you would expect with an expert on board – the problem was fixed very quickly!
