Michael Egan Me­mo­rial Book Fair Col­lec­tion Drop Off

The Ro­tary Club of Dubbo Mac­quarie are ac­cept­ing book do­na­tions for the up­com­ing Michael Egan Me­mo­rial Book Fair. The first col­lec­tion drop off day will be on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 31, be­tween 9am and 5pm at Meals on Wheels, 74 Mount­bat­ten Drive, Dubbo. The first work­ing bee of the year will also be held that that day be­tween 4pm and 8pm. The Book Fair will be held on Satur­day, May 4, and Sun­day, May 5, with pro­ceeds evenly split be­tween the lo­cal Royal Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vice Sup­port Group and can­cer re­search. U3A Build­ing and Ex­plor­ing Vir­tual Worlds

Uni­ver­sity of the Third Age (U3A Dubbo)

You’re never too old to learn! Uni­ver­sity of the Third Age has been de­vel­op­ing and en­hanc­ing lives in Dubbo for more than 25 years, cater­ing for re­tirees and older part-time work­ers. Choose from 23 cour­ses and pay only $20 per an­num for one or more top­ics. Learn about his­tory, ecol­ogy, art, mu­sic, gar­den­ing, lit­er­a­ture and join ex­er­cise classes. En­rol­ment and in­for­ma­tion days with course lead­ers will be Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 1, from 10am to 12 noon and Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 4, from 10am to 12 noon at the Western Plains Cul­tural Cen­tre, cor­ner Winge­warra and Gipps Street (next to the Art Gallery).

Orana Writ­ers’ Hub

The Satur­day group of the Out­back Writ­ers’ Cen­tre will meet on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 2 at 10am in the Board Room of the WPCC. The meet­ing will com­mence with a work­shop “Kick start your writ­ing in 2019” led by teacher and writer, Robyn Veu­gen. Our nor­mal meet­ing will fol­low so bring 10-12 copies of your own writ­ing to dis­cuss or come to dis­cuss the work of oth­ers. 300 word chal­lenge is Health or Science. Morn­ing tea with gold coin do­na­tion. Vis­i­tors and new mem­bers wel­come. Plenty of park­ing and a cof­fee shop as well.

Dubbo Base Hos­pi­tal Grad­u­ate Nurses Lun­cheon
