Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair Collection Drop Off
The Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie are accepting book donations for the upcoming Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair. The first collection drop off day will be on Thursday, January 31, between 9am and 5pm at Meals on Wheels, 74 Mountbatten Drive, Dubbo. The first working bee of the year will also be held that that day between 4pm and 8pm. The Book Fair will be held on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, with proceeds evenly split between the local Royal Flying Doctor Service Support Group and cancer research. U3A Building and Exploring Virtual Worlds

You’re never too old to learn! University of the Third Age has been developing and enhancing lives in Dubbo for more than 25 years, catering for retirees and older part-time workers. Choose from 23 courses and pay only $20 per annum for one or more topics. Learn about history, ecology, art, music, gardening, literature and join exercise classes. Enrolment and information days with course leaders will be Friday, February 1, from 10am to 12 noon and Monday, February 4, from 10am to 12 noon at the Western Plains Cultural Centre, corner Wingewarra and Gipps Street (next to the Art Gallery).
Orana Writers’ Hub
The Saturday group of the Outback Writers’ Centre will meet on Saturday, February 2 at 10am in the Board Room of the WPCC. The meeting will commence with a workshop “Kick start your writing in 2019” led by teacher and writer, Robyn Veugen. Our normal meeting will follow so bring 10-12 copies of your own writing to discuss or come to discuss the work of others. 300 word challenge is Health or Science. Morning tea with gold coin donation. Visitors and new members welcome. Plenty of parking and a coffee shop as well.
Dubbo Base Hospital Graduate Nurses Luncheon
