Come on down to the Seniors Expo!

-

THE Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre holds the social lives of seniors close to their heart.

Staff and volunteers are committed to the many programs they run in support of seniors, especially those in need of company and a friendly face.

Regular senior-centric activities and services are held through the community activities program (CAP) which meets every Wednesday between 9am and 2pm to play cards and chat, then again on the second Friday and fourth Monday of the month to watch movies.

The venue is the Wingewarra Activity Centre (formerly the CWA Hall).

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is another program connecting volunteers to seniors in the community with the aim of enriching their quality of life, especially those who feel isolated or lonely and will benefit from a friendly visitor at home.

Volunteers for this program can apply through the Centre.

Staff and volunteers know they can’t do everything, so once a year they host the NSW Seniors Festival Dubbo Expo – and 2019 is gearing up to be a bumper event with over 50 stall holders.

Assembled in one convenient location, seniors, carers and families can connect with community organisations and businesses at the Expo to learn about the range of products and services tailored for their

needs.

For more information, drop into the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre at 1/80 Gipps Street or call 1800 319 551 and be sure to save the date – Wednesday, February 20 – to attend the Seniors Expo Dubbo.
