IN FO­CUS Dubbo Pis­tol Club goes up in smoke!

PIS­TOL shoot­ers spe­cial­is­ing in black pow­der ar­rived at the Dubbo Pis­tol Club to com­pete in the Western Plains Black Pow­der Cham­pi­onships over the week­end of May 4 and 5.

Top ath­letes from the NSW State Team took to the line along­side con­tenders from Vic­to­ria and our lo­cal lads.

Black pow­der shoot­ing is a de­tailed, messy and mys­te­ri­ous op­er­a­tion, re­sult­ing in a very loud noise, lots of smoke and hope­fully a neat hole in the black ring on the pa­per tar­get 25 or 50 me­tres away!

Big win­ners on the day (pic­tured) in­cluded David Moore (Syd­ney), Brian Subkey (Cess­nock), Steven Black­burn (Cess­nock), John Sam­martino (Mt. Dis­trict), John Sim­monds, Bill Par­rinelli (St. Ives), Domenic Mas­trose­rio (St. Ives), Les Mon­crieff (Mildura), Al­lan Hen­nessy (Cowra), Cherie May (Cowra) and Glen Kiem (Dubbo).

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all com­peti­tors and many thanks to the ded­i­cated group of Dubbo mem­bers who made the event such a suc­cess.
