THE Rotary Club of Dubbo South continue to provide generous support to Leaderlife.

After a successful fundraising event in September 2019, the Club has again rallied behind the young people of Dubbo and donated a Side by Side Buggy to Leaderlife’s Soil2soul program.

“We are extremely grateful to those people in our local community who consciously support Leaderlife and create opportunities for the amazing young people in our programs. All kids can thrive when surrounded by good mentors and the right environment,” Leaderlife Program coordinator Mel Singh said.

Soil2soul is a social enterprise developed by Leaderlife and a group of young men who identified the need for supported and meaningful pathways to training and employment. Since its commencement in early 2020, the young people in the Soil2soul program have achieved some remarkable things.

They have been working on a lime farm at Narromine learning the fundamentals of growing good quality produce.

The Side by Side Buggy has been a welcome addition to the team allowing the young people to pick and cart limes for their weekly delivery service to local restaurants, pubs and cafés and their home delivery service.

It also helps with teaching maintenance skills, driving skills and will allow for expansion into other enterprises. The young people have also completed a number of landscaping jobs and have been selling their freshly picked limes at the Dubbo Farmers’ Markets.
