Crown reserves set for recovery
THE impacts of COVID-19 continue to bite around the region, but help is at hand for communities that have been adversely affected by having to close off crown land during the pandemic.
The state government has put $1.4 million in grants on the table to support asset and health and safety improvements on crown land reserves, and managers of those facilities are being urged to apply for a share of the funding pool being made available under the Crown Land Manager Recovery Support Program
Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders pointed out that crown land covers 42 per cent of the state, with reserves used for a variety of purposes including public open space, parks and campgrounds to hosting community facilities like club halls and showgrounds, as well as supporting businesses.
