THE THUMBS

-

Thumbs Up to Macca the parcel guy at Wellington Post Office for his great service!

Thumbs Up to Scott at Axxis Technology for assisting anyone who needs help linking their Medicare vaccination certificate on their phones. It’s a free service.

Thumbs Down to people who complain about having to wait in line at the Return and Earn machines when people have a lot of plastic bottles and cans.

Thumbs Down to the idiotic fool who called in a fake stabbing to police, causing officers to turn up in force to former mayor Greg Matthews’ home where they were about to kick the door in before the unharmed couple opened it in surprise. The sort of person who’d do this to score some sort of political point really is insane and needs mental help.

Thumbs Up for a random act of kindness last week – it was very heart-warming after the tough few months.

Thumbs Up to people for helping strangers. A lady from Nyngan was shopping at Orana Mall and had decided on a new handbag, choosing a more expensive bag as she explained to the sales girl because lockdowns had caused her to miss out on getting herself a Christmas or birthday gift. Also waiting to be served was a young lady, who had heard the conversation and put her card onto the machine first and paid $50 towards the cost. The shopper from Nyngan was astounded and quite overcome. Thank you, Isabel, your kindness and generosity was so appreciated and restores faith in human nature.

Thumbs Up to Sophia at the Dubbo Photo News front desk, she’s so gorgeous, lovely and helpful every time I go into the office.

Thumbs Up to the helpful staff member at Woolies Orana Mall last Saturday morning. His customer service was exceptional. Woolies, he is a keeper!

Thumbs Down to the rude person on the click and collect at a national chain store.

Thumbs Up to the Dubbo winners at the Western NSW business awards, 123Tix, Ben Furney Flour Mills and Orana Early Childhood Intervention, so many locals doing so many good things.

Thumbs Up to Coffee and Tea Exchange in Macquarie Street who now open up in the evening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to serve beautifully crafted Hot Malaysian meals. Dubbo is coming alive!

Thumbs Up from Grandeys Bike Bitz to all the passers-by who helped them run down and detain a couple of alleged motorbike thieves during the week. It appears that people driving past saw the drama unfolding and rushed to help.

Thumbs Up to Caroline Maxwell. Not only did she help me and my baby with feeding, she’s also doing incredible work vaccinating across rural NSW with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
