Salvation under the Christmas tree

- By JOHN RYAN

MACQUARIE Credit Union has offered itself up as a drop-off point for the annual Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

Donations in November are encouraged as the Orana Salvation Army will be collecting the gifts for distribution in the local community in early December in time for Christmas.

“Leave no one in need” is the focus of the annual Salvation Army Christmas Appeal, with the purpose of the drive being to make Christmas brighter for families in need.

You can help by purchasing a new gift or gift card and dropping it off to Macquarie Credit Union in Brisbane Street, and according to marketing officer Stephanie Semmler, gifts for all ages are encouraged especially for

teenagers and parents.

“Your donated gift may be the only present someone receives this Christmas, so please donate new items only,” she told Dubbo Photo News.

“Macquarie Credit Union is passionate about supporting our community.

“We support the Orana Salvos through our Christmas toy drive and gift collection because it is a very rewarding

way to connect with our community and share the Christmas spirit with others.”

The best donations are gift cards, activity based presents such as Lego, books, stationery, puzzles and craft kits and personal accessories such as caps, sunglasses, jewellery, make up, perfume or backpacks while outdoor activities such as sporting gear, skate boards, camping equipment are also welcome.
