Atlas Copco has extended the QIS generator range with the addition of five new models spanning 875 to 1420kVA that offer low-noise levels and modular capabilities.
The five new models are the QIS 875, QIS 1015, QIS 1115, QIS 1250 and QIS 1420. All five offer
500 hour service intervals and are designed for reliability and efficiency in both standby and stationary prime power applications.
The generators are suited to a wide range of industries including data centres, manufacturing, utilities, healthcare and retail. QIS generator models are intended for outdoor installation and go through several different testing procedures
including a transient behaviour test, ambient temperature performance test, water ingress test and extensive noise testing.
Atlas Copco says lowering noise-levels in the
QIS series was a top design priority for the new models.
“The latest additions to the QIS range offer a no compromise solution to noise,” Atlas Copco large generator product marketing manager Julio Tome says. “We have tested and certified a 1MW generator at a noise level of 70 dB(A) at 15m distance, which means they are suitable even for use in residential areas.”
The company says the generators deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 5 per cent over previous models and have a 25 per cent smaller footprint than comparable models. All of the new generators feature premium engines in addition to an IP23 alternator with auxiliary winding that can withstand up to 300 per cent overcurrent during the first 20 seconds of operation.
“This ensures an instant start, guaranteeing power and performance at exactly the moment it’s needed,” Tome explains.
The compact size of the generators makes them ideal for transportation, with integrated lifting slots making transport even easier. The generators’ ‘plug and play’ design means that setup at the new location is fast and easy.
