The new Z + F Im­ager 5016 phase-based laser scan­ning unit is now avail­able in Aus­tralia. Aus­tralian Z + F dis­trib­u­tor Po­si­tion Part­ners says the Im­ager 5016 com­bines a com­pact and light­weight de­sign with state-of-the-art laser scan­ning tech­nol­ogy. The unit is equipped with an in­te­grated HDR cam­era, in­ter­nal light­ing and high-pre­ci­sion po­si­tion­ing sys­tem.

The new im­ager unit has an ex­tended range of up to 360 me­tres and has a field-of-view of 360 x 320 de­grees, re­duc­ing the num­ber of scans po­si­tions nec­es­sary to a min­i­mum. The laser scan­ner has been clas­si­fied as ‘eye safe’ (laser class 1) and can be safely used in pub­lic ar­eas with­out any re­stric­tions.

The Z + F Im­ager 5016 is equipped with an in­te­grated po­si­tion­ing sys­tem which al­lows au­to­matic reg­is­tra­tion in the field, with or with­out tar­gets. The unit can pro­duce a full HDR panao­rama at 80MP in around 3.5 min­utes.

The unit is con­tained within a rugged IP54-class protected hous­ing, which is re­sis­tant to dust and wa­ter, and is able to op­er­ate in tem­per­a­tures span­ning -10 to 45 de­grees Cel­sius.

Lo­cated on the out­side of the unit are easily ac­ces­si­ble plugs for ex­ter­nal power sup­ply or Eth­er­net data ex­change.

The scan­ner also has an in­ter­nal stor­age ca­pac­ity of 128GB, and data can be trans­ferred rapidly via the SD card slot, Eth­er­net link or WiFi con­nec­tion.
