Hidromek has been the market leader in Turkey for backhoe loader sales for the last nine years and excavator sales for the last six years. Its excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders and backhoe loaders are manufactured in six production facilities, including four factories in Ankara, one factory in Izmir and one factory in Thailand.

The decision to appoint Onetrak as the official dealer for Hidromek in Australia was made last year and the arrangement has progressed rapidly since then.

Onetrak managing director and founder David Hazell says he is very confident in the future of the brand in Australia.

“Hidromek is an incredibly strong brand in Europe,” he explains.

“The product quality and design are outstanding, and we are very excited to bring the products to the Australian market.

“The product range is already strong and there are several new product releases to look forward to over the next 12 to 18 months.”

Onetrak national sales manager Andrew Pritchard visited the Hidromek factories in Turkey recently.

“We recently hosted a group of customers on an international trip to the factories in Izmir and Ankara where they got to drive the machines and see the production lines first hand and the feedback we received was extremely positive,” he says. “In addition to having new machines in stock, we also now have Hidromek units in the rental fleet providing various options for customers regardless of whether they are looking to purchase or hire.”

Hidromek was founded in Ankara in 1978. Founder and current board chairman Hasan

Basri Bozkurt started with the production of attachments for agricultural tractors.

This initiative developed further and was responsible for the first construction machine ever designed by Turkish engineers, which was produced in the following years.

The product range expanded with time, leading to the growth of Hidromek and it now employs about 1,900 people globally. Hidromek designs are strongly driven by customer feedback.

The company invests heavily in research and development and is continuously developing and updating its product range.

Exporting to more than 80 countries on five continents, Hidromek works with an international dealer network providing sales and aftersales. The company also has direct outlets in Spain, Russia and Japan.

The Hidromek equipment range is backed by an impressive list of design and engineering accolades in America, Germany and in a number of other countries, the company says.

There are several new product releases to look forward to over the next 12 to 18 months.
