Eastern Reporter - - News -

THE man who attacked Swan Mayor David Lucas escaped a fine and jail time at sentencing in Midland Magistrates Court last Thursday.

Magistrate Stephen Sharratt issued Warren Jeater with a 12-month intensive supervision order for the June 18 attack, which left the mayor with a cut above the eye.

Jeater (67) pleaded guilty last month to striking Cr Lucas with a microphone at the end of a City of Swan special electors meeting at Midland Town Hall.

He pleaded guilty to breaking Cr Lucas’ glasses.

Mr Sharratt ordered he pay for the damage.

The supervision order will involve Jeater contacting a corrections officer.
