Editor’s letter
Wow, what a year it has been! No one could have predicted the turn of events of 2020. Reaching the end of the year has felt like a marathon, seeing the finish line so close now means we can reset, reframe and refocus and move in to 2021 with renewed hope and optimism. The festive season might be a little different this year, with international travel curtailed and movement within our own country still somewhat restricted. Large family gatherings might not be quite the same as they have been in other years, but one thing remains the same taking time out to celebrate and be with our families and friends will feel even more important than ever this year.
I’m betting that most New Year’s Eve’s resolutions may be a little different, with many of the us just hoping for a better year than 2020. On a personal note for us at ele, 2020 has been a mixed blessing, we launched our print and digital magazine, brought our ele TV channel to life and expanded our digital site to you bring more great content. We have spent more time with our families than ever before and have struggled with the challenges of endless Zoom meetings and home-schooling. Our team has grown and feels more connected than ever, even though we are physically apart. In this issue we bring you everything you need for a delicious festive season, gift guides to help take the stress out of shopping, delicious recipes to share with friends and family, fashion to make you sparkle, our Summer Reading Guide, beautiful home inspiration and our tips on how to be truly happy. We have packed this issue with bright uplifting colour to inspire you and celebrate our ele ethos of love and positivity.
No matter how you are celebrating the festive season, I wish you and your families the very happiest of holidays and a bright new year.
