How To Brush Your Hair

-

It should be simple right? But how we brush our strands can really affect our hair health.

DON’T start at the roots! This goes against everything we have ever known, but brushing from the root down can pull hairs out at the follicles, instead start near the bottom and work your way up as you loosen tangles.

DRY hair is less prone to damage than wet hair, when you are brushing wet hair take extra care and use a detangling product first and use a brush or comb designed for wet brushing - the teeth or bristles will typically be further apart and more flexible.

DON’T brush too often. Forget about a hundred brushes a day! Keep your locks in great condition by minimising brushing and only brush when you need to detangle or smooth down your locks.

DO wait until hair is 80% dry before using a brush to style it.

KEEP your hairbrush clean. Your hairbrush collects oil and debris which can be brushed straight back in to your hair if you don’t regularly clean your combs and brushes.
