1 Fait Maison, London

It is one of London’s prettiest spots, but make no mistake Fait Maison is not just a pretty, flower framed cafe. Delicious food, a wonderful patisserie and desserts worth crossing town for, this London sweet spot is one not to miss. Fait Maison was founded in 2001, by Monhamed El Banna and Mohamed Osman. The food is influenced by Palestine, the Middle East and the Mediterran­ean so expect delicious spiced food and an abundance of flavours. With multiple cafes in London, go for afternoon tea and enjoy delicious sweet treats!

2 Venchi, Italy

Italy is not short of gelato shops but once you try a Venchi gelato or ice-cream you may be spoilt forever. Located across Italy and other parts of the world - 120 shops in 70 countries - Venchi is one of Italy’s most famous sweet exports. Founded in Turin in 1878, by Silviano Venchi, this gourmet chocolate and ice-cream shop is a Italy must-visit whether you are in Rome, Milan or Florence. 3 Hopetoun Tearooms, Melbourne

A Melbourne institutio­n, the Hopetoun Tearooms are a must-visit on any trip to Melbourne. After 128 years of serving up delicious cakes, tarts and pies, the tearooms are moving from the historic Block Arcade to their new premises the a 161 year old heritage Kozminsky building on Bourke Street. The tea rooms were named after Lady Hopetoun, the wife of the first Governor-General of Australia John Hope who was said to have introduced Melbourne to the ritual of high tea. The location will retain the same classic cakes, tea varieties and displays that has made Hopetoun a Melbourne institutio­n that should not be missed.

4 Flour and Stone, Sydney

Dreamy cakes, buttery croissants, fluffy sponges and pannacotta lamingtons all made from the highest quality ingredient­s are hallmarks of Flour and Stone’s inner city kitchen in Sydney’s Woolloomoo­loo. The once tiny bakery has had a recent expansion to accommodat­e more customers. 5 Haigh’s, Melbourne

If you haven’t tried a Haigh’s chocolate you are in for a treat! One of the most famous chocolatie­rs in Australia, Haigh’s is a 108-year family owned and ran chocolate company that orginated in

South Australia’s Adeliade. One of their most beautiful stores is in Melbourne’s Block Arcade, the historic facade is perfectly suited to the high quality delicious sweet treats you will find inside. Marshmallo­w chocolate kokettes, chocolate frogs, and chocolate blocks are some of our favourites. Throughout the year different ranges are released to celebrate all of the important milestones (Easter, Mother’s Day etc.), it is a spot not to be missed for chocolate lovers.

The Block Arcade is one of Melbourne’s most famous shopping arcades. Constructe­d in the late 1800s it is considered one of the era’s finest shopping arcardes and a popular tourist attraction to this day.

6 La Belle Miette, Melbourne
