Light speed


All sorts of fun, bro­ken things have been pur­pose­fully left in our demo, in­clud­ing an in­fi­nite dou­ble jump that prac­ti­cally begs us to try to find the up­per limit of the level’s sky­box. Per­haps un­sur­pris­ingly, PhiGames has in­ten­tion­ally de­signed lev­els for com­pet­i­tive speedrun­ners, who will no doubt re­joice in find­ing the most ef­fi­cient routes through the ope­nended ar­eas. The cur­rent dev record for the first area stands at around two min­utes (our ca­sual playthrough takes about ten times that). Whether the de­lib­er­ately bro­ken ver­sions of Re­com­pile’s move­ment abil­i­ties will be in­cluded as Easter eggs in the fi­nal game re­mains to be seen, but they’d cer­tainly make for en­ter­tain­ing ex­tra speedrun cat­e­gories.
