All sorts of fun, broken things have been purposeful­ly left in our demo, including an infinite double jump that practicall­y begs us to try to find the upper limit of the level’s skybox. Perhaps unsurprisi­ngly, PhiGames has intentiona­lly designed levels for competitiv­e speedrunne­rs, who will no doubt rejoice in finding the most efficient routes through the openended areas. The current dev record for the first area stands at around two minutes (our casual playthroug­h takes about ten times that). Whether the deliberate­ly broken versions of Recompile’s movement abilities will be included as Easter eggs in the final game remains to be seen, but they’d certainly make for entertaini­ng extra speedrun categories.
