On Twitter he may seem blunt, deploying more blocks than a high-level Tetris player, but Hideki Kamiya is a disarming, self-effacing presence in this engaging series from documentary channel Cutscenes, as he reflects upon his career to date. Admitting to his “emotional immaturity”, he sprinkles candid anecdotes throughout enlightening segments on the creation of Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami and Bayonetta. Meanwhile, in opening episode First Steps he proves there’s a soft centre beneath that brash exterior, as he pays heartfelt tribute to the influence of mentor Shinji Mikami.
