The C, the C, the open C

-

Parity Games has apparently banned a certain c-word during development. No, not that one – we’re talking about combat. Certain beasts may seem hostile, but you’re encouraged to approach encounters non-violently. The same goes the mythical creatures you confront at the end of each area. These climactic sequences are more puzzle-led, with some involving straightforward fetch quests: the legendary horse, Nyku, for example, has lost its hooves, and you must return them to lift the curse. Careful explorers, meanwhile, will be rewarded with Easter eggs, including animated sequences that tell stories from Icelandic folklore, and superior ingredients to bolster spells. To negotiate the more challenging terrain where the best secrets lie, Brynhildur can harness the wind, effectively allowing her to double-jump to higher ground.
