MANY OF HORROR
While failure in Chuchel was often more entertaining than success, there aren’t too many ways to mess things up here – but then Happy Game is messed-up enough as it is. The boy can die in some scenes, but more often it’s a matter of figuring out how to make bad things happen in order to avoid worse. There are, however, a few bonus interactions that result in achievements: one pays tribute to a certain AC/DC song, while another invites you to indulge in a bit of leporicide. The best comes from repeatedly ignoring that opening instruction: the one time you’re told what to do. Following your instincts while playing results in what feels like a miniature horror story in itself, told through nothing more than a series of images on a wall.
