Hepburn has other ideas relating to his work that he’d like to explore in interactive form. “Some of the records are quite outlandish, and quite clearly dramatising stories and picking out salacious stuff. So when historians use them, they’re very cautious in what they use. So I had an idea of creating a game where the player is one of these 16th-century chroniclers. They look at that material and have to decide how they’re going to write their chronicle, taking into consideration the political events or other contextual things of the time. Putting the player into a historical setting and having them do the work of a historian would be quite interesting.”
