THAT WEEKEND FEELING

My go-to fragrance for the weekend is Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, for its woody freshness. It’s a fragrance inspired by a holiday I had on the English coast, in Cornwall, with my family. Though the weather wasn’t sunny, the scenery was just so charming, the cliffs dramatic, the meadows green, the sea almost silvery. The scent of the cliffs, the sea spray and this feeling of freedom and joy is what we wanted to capture. The result was a light, woody fragrance with a unique character and the unusual note of sea salt.
Like so many people, I used to wear fragrances I was simply drawn to – there was no rhyme or reason to my choice. Working in fragrance gives me another dimension – I find myself deconstructing each scent (usually subconsciously) and looking into the ingredients themselves, how they combine and the longevity of the scent.
