LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED… BUT LIPSTICK DOESN’T HURT TOO
RED LIPS HAVE REAL POWER. HERE’S HOW TO WORK THEM
Harness the power of a crimson pout (and find your PB shade).
A crimson pout is classic, chic and, with thousands of options to choose from, refreshingly inclusive. But it can also be intimidating. “If you’re new to red, look for formulas with transparency and sheen,” says makeup artist Molly Warkentin. “Then you’ll have a chance to fall in love with the colour before the strength and impact scares you off.” GO BOLD AND MAKE IT MATTE “I love how dense in pigment a matte-finish lipstick is – it wears like a second skin,” says makeup artist Victoria Baron. “I use a cotton tip to lightly trace the lips and make an outline. Then I add a layer straight from the bullet or with a lip brush, to sharpen up the lines. I add a second coat to the entire lip, then a third just to the centre to boost volume,” she adds.
