Nominate for Fairley Leadership Program
ARE you interested in regional issues and developing your leadership skills to be a catalyst for positive change in the local community?
Strathbogie Shire Council invites enthusiastic citizens of the Strathbogie Shire to apply to participate in the Fairley Leadership Program in 2019.
The program is a Goulburn Murray based organisation which aims to develop leaders to explore major issues facing the region’s communities and ways to implement positive change.
This decision by Strathbogie Shire council to sponsor a member of the local community was made in May this year.
Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren is a Fairley Fellow, was the ex- ecutive director of the program between 2013 and 2014 and chief executive officer between 2015 and 2016, before becoming mayor.
“We have very strong connections with the Fairley Leadership Program, with three previous mayors who are also Fairley Fellows, including Colleen Furlanetto who was mayor in 2016 and is a powerful advocate for those living with a disability,” Cr McClaren said.
“Fairley is a nationally recognised qualification that builds skills and confidence and is a great way to network with other leaders in the region.
“As a council, we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to invest in our community leaders, who will play a crucial role in building flourishing communities.
“We welcome self-nominations or nominations for individuals who you recognise as great contributors to the community, or someone you believe would greatly benefit from participating in this personal development opportunity.”
The program is intensive and requires attendance to15 seminar days, several dinners and two study tours to Canberra and Melbourne. Applications can be obtained at: fices in Binney Street, Euroa;

The application needs to be submitted by hand, post or email by 5pm Tuesday, October 16 to: Strathbogie Shire Council, 109A or email@example.com
The successful candidate will be notified by Wednesday, October 24, and the submission will be forwarded to Fairley Leadership Program for consideration.
