His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety ac­tiv­i­ties in Wool Week

THE EUROA His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will once again be en­thu­si­as­ti­cally join­ing in the Wool Week ac­tiv­i­ties.

Dur­ing Wool Week the Mu­seum will be open on Sun­day Oc­to­ber 28 and Wed­nes­day Novem­ber 31 from 1pm to 4pm.

The En­try fee is $5 for adults and $1 for chil­dren aged 5 to 12 years.

The So­ci­ety will not only be en­ter­ing a float in the pa­rade it­self, but will also be man­ning a stall in Bin­ney Street sell­ing lo­cal his­tory books in­clud­ing their first His­tor­i­cal Cal­en­dar of Euroa (2019) and other items dur­ing the Traders Mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ties on Pa­rade morn­ing Satur­day Novem­ber 3.

The stall will be set up in front of the Euroa Li­brary and the Mu­seum will again be open from 2pm to 4pm af­ter the morn­ing ac­tiv­i­ties in Bin­ney Street.

On Sun­day, Novem­ber 4 the So­ci­ety will once more be con­duct­ing its pop­u­lar Her­itage Day ac­tiv­i­ties.

All are in­vited to come along and join in the fun of turn­ing back the cal­en­dar and get­ting in­volved in a range of ac­tiv­i­ties of yes­ter­year such as shear­ing, Mum and Dad vin­tage style, but­ter mak­ing, corn-cob­bing, chaff cut­ting, rope mak­ing and black­smithing.

There will of course be plenty of food in­clud­ing a sausage siz­zle, tea, cof­fee and cakes and, mu­sic from The Ukulele Group and a whole lot of other ac­tiv­i­ties to en­joy.

FORG­ING THE PAST: Lo­cal black­smith Ge­off Belcher will demon­strate his black­smith skills that have been passed down through his fam­ily.
