Agree­ment re­ceived for men’s shed

the Gazette to coun­cil, re­gard­ing the fund­ing agree­ment, they have since con­ducted dis­cus­sions with the Depart­ment of Health and Hu­man Ser­vices (DHHS).

Through these dis­cus­sions they have been made aware that they have in fact re­ceived a fund­ing agree­ment for the con­struc­tion of the Vi­o­let Town Men’s Shed.

“Af­ter dis­cus­sions with the Depart­ment of En­vi­ron­ment, Land, Wa­ter and Plan­ning, we have also ob­tained the lease agree­ment which per­mits the con­struc­tion of the shed,” Mayor McClaren said.

They have also re­ceived the ini­tial struc­tural draw­ings from the shed sup­plier, so are now in a po­si­tion to get prices for the site prepa­ra­tion and foot­ings, along with pro­vi­sion for wa­ter, sewer, power and con­crete floor.

“We have com­mu­ni­cated di­rectly with rep­re­sen­ta­tives of598l­gioi­o­tio the Vi­o­let Town Men’s Shed Com­mit­tee with these up­dates and will con­tinue to meet with them reg­u­larly dur­ing the re­main­der of the project,” mayor McClaren said.

Coun­cil have said the project will come to fruition in the com­ing months.
