Euroa Gazette - - SPORTS - By PHAT SCHOTT

THE prospect of very warm weather and a par competition didn’t deter golfers on Saturday, December 1, with 44 men playing in the competition.

The course, especially the greens, was in great condition and some very good scores were achieved during the day.

Greg Walker (9) took out division one with a very solid score of plus five and Richard Johnson (25) had the round of the day to win division two with plus six.

Richard was five up after hitting the pin off the tee on the fifth hole and held it together for the rest of the round for a very good win. He also won the swindle. The Wednesday stableford competition on November 25, had 36 golfers with Dick Farmer (17) taking out division one with 40 points and R Wishart won division two with a magnificent 48 points.

Friday Twilight returned on November 30, with Richard Johnson (25) starting off his weekend on a high note by winning the competition with 23 points.

Fifteen golfers made up the field including two non-handicappers.

This Sunday, December 9, is the Euroa Shield 4BBB stableford sponsored by the Frost family so if you haven’t entered yet, get your entry into Brian Rosenbrock.

It is an open honor board event with 11am assembly for an 11:30am multi-tee start at $30 per pair.

Members are requested to bring a plate to share for afternoon tea.

Saturday, December 8, is a stroke round and the December monthly medal sponsored by Drummond Golf with Charles Arnold and David Baker in the office and being monthly medal, we will have the mega-draw after presentations.

Today and every Wednesday is the stableford competition and Friday Twilight is the final round of the Keith Seeber trophy with tee off from 4pm and non-handicap golfers are welcome.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is the Dalhousie Vets 4 person mixed Ambrose and Christmas Breakup at Broadford.

As we enter summer there is a bit of run on the course and the few drops of recent rain has meant that the course is in great condition and an ideal place to be.
