Euroa students vote for college captains

Euroa Gazette - - NEWS -

STUDENTS from Euroa Secondary College took to the polls last week and voted for their next college captains.

For the past few weeks, the future Year 12 students have been quietly and eagerly discussing which of them would step forward to become a nominee for the position of 2019 college captain.

All five nominees addressed a whole school assembly last Tuesday.

Female candidates Lucy Burgess and Tess Manson, and male candidates Jackson Leslight, Hamish Cross, and Robert Paradzayi each spoke well about their time at Euroa Secondary College, and what they as captains would do for the college and its students.

The rest of the student body listened attentively, and then went away to carefully consider how they would place their vote.

The polling opened on Thursday morning, with assistant principal, Mr Bott, in charge of electoral proceed- ings, and students were brought in classes to place their votes (with staff coming to vote as well).

Principal Harold Cheung made the announcement later that day that College Captains for 2019 will be Tess Manson and Robert Paradzayi.

Mr Cheung said the school is immensely proud of Tess and Robert, and of all the nominees, and look forward to seeing what the new captains will accomplish next year.
