Thankyou Euroa for generosity
I WOULD like to thank the very generous community members of Euroa who helped the Euroa Basketball Association complete our basketball half court and ring at the Euroa Lions Park.
Firstly, thanks to Max Furnaletto, who completed the works, donating his time, materials and resources to ensure the project came to fruition.
Without Max’s generous and enthusiastic support, this project would not have happened.
Thank you Max for your kind, humble, community spirit - you are one of the best young men around and the perfect example that our young kids can aspire to.
Thanks also to Kurt Denke and Wade who completed the concrete at a great rate, and participated in meetings and had the expertise to advise us.
Thanks to Marnie Burton and Boral for helping us out.
Thanks to the Euroa Community Action Group and the Strathbogie Shire for providing funding for the project and especially to Scott Watson, John Mason and Anthony Cini who were always encouraging and supportive.
Thanks to Fiona Nation for her encouragement and her assistance in securing funding from Benalla Magistrates Court.
Thank you to the Euroa Lion’s Club who were always easy to work with and donated some money to help us stay under budget. Well done for creating a great park in our town!
Thanks to Michael Harvey - our building surveyor - for helping a novice, like me, to ensure every ‘I’ was dotted and every ‘t’ was crossed.
Thanks to our tireless basketball committee, especially to Jarrod Garden, who always had the tools ready and had the expertise to help out whenever he was needed.
Thanks to Jon Reid, our treasurer, for managing the dollar side of the project and participating in meetings and asking the questions we needed to know.
Also thanks to Brendon Rowe and Di Marin for their work to get the court ready in the final stages and answering many emails throughout the project.
Thanks to Tony and Georgie at Splash Gecko, who made our new sign at a fraction of the cost.
Thanks also needs to go to my family and husband, who have held my own house together when I’ve been at meetings or writing emails or grants, or speaking to people about the next step.
We really live in a great town with great people and I’m really proud of how so many people have some together to achieve something that will benefit our kids now and into the future.
We hope this court provides many hours of enjoyment and physical activity for our young people.
Melinda Watson, president Euroa Basketball Association
