October 6 date for the 2019 Show and Shine Euroa

Euroa Gazette - - NEWS -

THE Australian National Show and Shine Euroa has announced Sunday, October 6 as the date of the 2019 event.

Show and Shine vice president Ray Read said that this is in keeping with the long-standing policy of running the event on the first Sunday of October of each year.

“This should not come as a surprise to our regular visitors and vehicle owners, as the “first Sunday in October” has been pretty well set as a tradition over the history of our event,” Mr Read said.

“For the last show we clashed with Bathurst but it was demonstrated that this had little, if any effect, with record attendances across the board. In fact, many people came to the show and shine, and watched the great race on the big TV screen provided by Thompson’s Electrical at our event.”

For 2019, Bathurst will not be on the same date as the show and shine and is scheduled for the following weekend.

Planning activities by the show and shine committee will commence early in the New Year, with several promotional activities already in progress.

Mr Read said that each year the committee seeks to have fresh special attractions for visitors.

“In 2017, we had the fantastic Y2K turbine powered superbike, Teslas and a great display with the police Mercedes vehicle,” he said.

“For 2018, the Corvettes came in force, and we featured the Aston Martins and the Jaguars, with dirt bikes introduced in the two wheel category.

“We have a few surprises in mind for next year, and we will announce these as soon as soon as arrangements are finalised.

“Perhaps the time is right for something completely different.

“In the meantime, if anyone has anything outstanding that they would like us to feature, please let us know.”

The Euroa Show and Shine has now reached the point of being virtually self- sufficient.

Many display vehicle owners return each year, on many occasions with some new and exciting additions to show.

Focus will continue on providing top value-for-money entertainment for family groups and motoring enthusiasts alike.
