Euroa Gazette - - SPORTS -

day going down by 12. Terip went on to win by 31. Euroa Lawn played Benalla in what would be a tight game with Phil Mollison and Barry Fischer winning 8-3 and then with Craig Mercuri 5-8. Barry and Craig won 8-4. Judy Sands and Julie Harrington kicked off the women 8-6 but then the Benalla women took over winning the next two sets.

The mixed was tight but Barry and Judy won in a tie breaker.

Benalla went on to win by eight games.

The third division saw Euroa Lawn and Longwood play off with Lyn Manson and Bella Vaz starting well, over Lily and Poppy Meehan 8-2.

Scott Meehan and Keily Jager fought back for Longwood 8-3.

Lyn and Maddie Andrews won 8-0 against Lily and first time player Jodie Baker.

Bede Redfern and Dublin Anderson got Euroa on the right track winning 8-4 over Keily and Marcello Mercuri.

It was great to see the youngsters fighting it out with a little help from a not-so-young Scott Meehan but Euroa were too strong and won by 16 games.

Benalla then hosted a fabulous barbeque with chef Mark ‘Macca’ McDonald doing a wonderful job. The food was fabulous. On Saturday, February 2, Euroa hosts the start of the season’s last five rounds with a spit roast for everyone.

From the Euroa Lawn Tennis Club we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
